Responding to CSA for education settings

This session is part of a regional approach to strengthening how organisations work together to prevent, recognise, and respond to CSA. Safeguarding partners across the Northwest region are developing a consistent approach to CSA, and the contribution of early years providers, schools, colleges, and education/training professionals is essential to ensuring children are protected and supported at the earliest possible stage.

The purpose of this session is to provide space for reflection, learning, and discussion grounded in education and early years practice. The session will explore:

  • The role of early years and education settings in identifying concerns, listening to children, and acting on safeguarding worries
  • What is working well in safeguarding practice across settings
  • Common challenges
  • How education settings work alongside children’s social care, police, health, and other safeguarding partners

This session is not about inspection or compliance. It is intended to support learning from practice, build confidence, and strengthen consistent safeguarding responses across the region.
