Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach front line practitioners how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.
The two day course will allow you to develop practical skills to identify a range of mental health issues and support a young person to get the help they need.
This training is valuable for practitioners supporting children who are at high risk of child exploitation and often present as high risk of self-harm , suicide and misadventure through emotional dysregulation, exacerbated by trauma.
YMHFA 2 Day
Provides a more in depth understanding of specific mental health issues and is delivered in four manageable chunks:
o What is mental health?
o Depression and anxiety
o Suicide and psychosis
o Self-harm and eating disorders
It focuses on the issues faced by young people today, such as cyber bullying and substance misuse, and teaches how to promote protective factors and good parenting. Completing the two day course qualifies you as a Youth Mental Health First Aider.
Please note that this course is exclusively available to colleagues within the Lancashire County Council area. Regrettably, if you are based outside of this area, your registration will be cancelled by the LSBU.
