This interactive session explores what professional curiosity means in practice, why it is a recurring theme in safeguarding reviews, and how it strengthens assessment, decision-making, and risk management. Drawing on real safeguarding learning, participants will examine common barriers such as disguised compliance, confirmation bias, professional deference, and workload pressures, and consider practical strategies for embedding curiosity into everyday practice. The session includes reflective discussion, case study learning, and practical tools that can be applied immediately within safeguarding and multi-agency settings.
The training is relevant for all professionals who work with children, young people, families, or vulnerable adults and have safeguarding responsibilities.
Whether you are new to safeguarding or an experienced practitioner, the session will help you develop the confidence, critical thinking, and questioning skills needed to identify hidden risks, challenge assumptions, and improve outcomes for those you support.
