Lancashire Domestic Abuse Strategy and Toolkit 2025 - Launch event
The Lancashire Domestic Abuse Strategy and Toolkit were developed in response to domestic abuse being identified as a strategic priority for children. Introduced in 2023 through the Domestic Abuse Subgroup and supported by the Children’s Safeguarding Assurance Partnership (CSAP), the strategy sets out a unified, multi-agency approach to tackling domestic abuse across Lancashire.
Grounded in the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, the strategy recognises the broad spectrum of abuse (including physical, emotional, economic, coercive control, and digital abuse) and acknowledges children as victims in their own right. It applies to both adults and children, and includes specific forms such as Honour-Based Violence, Forced Marriage, and FGM.
The strategy is presented in two parts: a high-level public-facing document outlining shared priorities, and a detailed practitioner toolkit offering practical guidance, trauma-informed approaches, and a directory of local support services.
This launch event marks a key milestone in promoting consistent, compassionate, and coordinated responses to domestic abuse across the county.
