Fire Risk in the Home - Awareness Session for Professionals
Fire Risk in the Home - Awareness Session for Professionals
This presentation is aimed at health and social care professionals supporting people in Lancashire who support or care for vulnerable people in the community and help recognise fire risk in the home and identify those most vulnerable.
Due to an aging population more and more people are being supported to live at home with complex health issues.
In Lancashire over 70% of accidental fatal fires have involved people with poor physical and or mental health and over 50% of these fatalities have been in receipt of care in the home.
The presentation provides awareness of:
- The most common causes of fire in the home
- Who’s most vulnerable to fire and why
- Simple actions and advice you can provide to reduce risk
- The support available from Lancashire Fire Rescue and how to make a referral
